Alison L R Davies is a writer, storyteller and poet who hails from Nottingham.
Her short fiction has appeared in numerous magazines and anthologies, in the U.K, U.S and Australia. She also writes non-fiction articles, which have appeared/been accepted for a number of popular, on the shelf, magazines and newspapers in the U.K including the Times Educational Supplement, The Daily Mail, Record Collector, Writers Forum, Writers News, Child Education, Teaching and Learning Magazine, Chat - Its Fate, Eve, Best, Fireworks, and Bite Me.
Sarob Press published her first book of dark and twisted short stories 'Small Deaths' in limited edition hardback in May 2003 and her dark fantasy novella 'King of the Birds' was released in 2005. The feedback from the original novella was good, and after much deliberating Alison decided to turn her hand to a YA Dark Fantasy, taking the idea of the King of the Birds and turning it into something new and at least twice the size. The results are a darkly gothic novel with twists and turns, extra characters and lots of exciting adventure. The book is now being represented by her agent Christopher Little.
In addition to her published work Alison has a great love for Storytelling. As she says, it gives her the opportunity to lift the words from the page and bring them alive for an audience. She has written numerous performance pieces (stories&poems) for adults and children, has appeared on her local radio station with a regular writers workshop slot, and has had a book published on Storytelling by Sage Publications. She runs workshops for adults and children, and appears regularly at venues around the East Midlands.
Alison is currently locked away working on a new dark fantasy novel for teens.....
